Why Your Turo Promo Code Isn't Working

Start with the trip minimum

The most common reason a code does nothing is that your trip total sits below the minimum it requires. Many codes only trigger past a set amount. Add a day, choose a slightly higher-rate host, or check whether a longer booking clears the line — then watch the discount appear. If the code is minimum-gated, this fixes it more often than anything else.

Check for a first-booking limit

A lot of the deepest codes are first-trip only. If your account already has a completed reservation, a first-booking code simply won't apply — not because it's broken, but because you're no longer eligible. Switch to a code that isn't restricted to new drivers, and it should take. This one trips up returning users constantly.

Look for app-only or vehicle-class rules

Some codes only work in the app, and some only apply to a specific class — SUVs, EVs, luxury, and so on. If you're booking on the website or on a car outside the eligible class, the code stays inert. Read the condition on the card, switch to the app if it's app-only, or pick a qualifying vehicle, and try again.

Confirm it hasn't expired

Codes lapse, and some carry redemption caps that fill up. That's exactly why every card here shows a last-verified time. If a code won't take and it's older, assume it may have expired and move to a higher-scoring one near the top of the list — those are the ones we've confirmed most recently.

Rule out a copy-paste slip

Finally, the boring one that catches everyone: a stray space, a missing character, or the wrong capitalization from copying. Re-copy the code cleanly, paste it with no leading or trailing space, and match the case exactly. A surprising share of ‘dead’ codes are really just a typo in disguise.
